The Basic Tank
We all know the unit characterics of armor, correct? One tank costs $5, attacks at 3, defends at 2 and can blitz through certain territories. These traits make armor perfectly suited for two basic functions: sweeping quickly through open turf and to provide a supportive *offensive* punch at 41% of the price of the fighter. However, the use of armor alone on defense is a major tatical blunder! They are equal to infantry on defense and yet the foot soldier is 40% of their cost.
When to Consider Changing Your Buying Habits
Do you find yourself consistently capturing territories and having only tanks left to defend them? Does your enemy kill your armor using mostly infantry with air support? Then you may be buying too many tanks and not enough infantry. Bottom Line: Tanks with Infantry make a solid offense. Tanks alone make a horrid defense.
This is not gospel! These are just ideas to consider.
