Looking for A&A Strategies on the Net?

Have you searched the web for Axis & Allies strategy pages lately? Maybe that's how you arrived here. Have you noticed a few common traits about most of these pages:

Most schemes approach the game from the perspective of each individual country.

The depth of these techniques rarely reaches beyond the first round of play.

Finally, it seems if some of the authors of these pages have never actually played the game.

Here's a sample from haynes@ptinet.net's website for British on turn one:

"Its time to buy, using your 30 I.P.C.s I suggest buying a battleship and 2 Infantry. If you still have some navy I suggest using it quickly. If Germany has any transports left try to kill them. This will stop any plans Germany has to take United Kingdom, at least until 2 turns have passed..."

I guess the British could do this, too. This is suggested by Robbie Salistean. I should note there are some excellent strategy ideas at this site... this just happens not to be one of them.

Turn 1: On the first turn I land 1 armor from East Canada, 2 fighters and a bomber and land them in Brazil. IC is placed in South Africa.

Turn 2: Take everthing in Brazil to Algeria, storm through whatever has been taken (anglo-egypt sudan) Most likely Germany has put very little in Italy. I take that after a few turns. Every turn produce two-three fighters in South Africa. Put 1 against the German side, and put one against Japan.

Interesting ideas, to say the least.

Time for a paradigm shift. Instead of basing our strategies on what each country should do maybe we could view the game based on each theatre of action: Europe, Africa, Asia, the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Americas. Coming in the next few weeks we'll be doing just that. Until then check some of these strategy links:
