The End Game

Germany is cornered, trapped in Europe. Japan's drive through Asia is about to stall at fortress Moscow and Axis income has finally peaked. Although you have plenty of units and could last for several more turns, for the most part the game seems to be over. Don't give up yet! Here's a few last minute ideas that may salvage your game.

A Yankee Surprise?
Look for alternative outlet for Japan's agression. If you have a decent sized transport fleet, go for San Francisco. With a reasonable amount of income the Japanese can give the Americans quite a fight. With some good dice, maybe you can turn things around.

To the Seas
Has the Allied Fleet in the Atlantic been delivery troops in waves to Europe? How many turns would it take to bring the Imperial Navy from Asian waters? Look both directions... through Panama or through the Med. Normally I have 4 to 5 fighters and one bomber available to Japan late in the game. These planes along with several more bombers purchased in the next few rounds can wreak havoc on Allied Shipping in the Atlantic.

Go East Young Man!
Russia rests defiant against the yellow horde. Without help, Japan cannot take Russia. Allied income has passed the Axis and the game is a downward track. But what if... what if you move everything Germany has into Eastern Europe! The next turn you go for Karelia and then of course Moscow! I realize you will lose Berlin, but you may be able to turn the game around by gaining control of Moscow. Will it work? Only you can make that final determination. Once you decide... it better!!!

Afrika?
Where are those Allied planes? Can they reach the Southern Europe sea zone? If not, maybe the Germans can make a small investment in a transport. Getting 1 armor into Africa, could revitalized the Germany economy. Often times Africa is empty late in the game and forcing the Allies to ship troops there can buy precious time and income.

When Strategy Fails... Luck Prevails?
There is no dishonor in rolling for Heavy Bombers! I have heard many players complain that they played a great game only to lose to Heavy Bombers. That's war! Hitler continued research into many exotic weapons, when all the signs pointed to defeat. What if?

Give Up!
There is also nothing wrong with surrender. There have been times where my friends and I have spent more talking about the game, than playing the game. Sometimes it is better to give up... and then play again!
